Rules for the road when the school buses roll out!

 With the start of school just around the corner remember the rules of the road. These safety tips about buses on the highway are important as we share the road with the big yellow vehicles.

Keep our kids and drivers safe by stopping when we need to and following the rules.

Springfield and Lakemore kids are ready!

Colt got his backpack!

Today was the annual backpack giveaway for the Springfield School District and there was a nice crowd getting their start for school.

The Springfield Cares organization created the event and does it annually. They usually have 500 backpacks to give out and most of them get passed out on backpack giveaway day. Some go to the schools for those that might need some help for school supplies. Today they gave out more than 350 backpacks.

Springfield Cares helps the Springfield Lakemore communities in many ways, and this is a popular event. 

They also donate to events in the community and host Christmas for more than 60 families each year that need a hand at the holidays. To become a volunteer with the group or donate call Nancy at 330-322-8999.

Today the kids and parents had plenty of smiles on their faces. Thanks to all those who volunteered, donated and make it all possible for our kids of the Springfield School District.

Springfield ROCKS out tonight!

 Springfield is ROCKIN tonight to the tunes of Pop and Classic ROCK! Join "My Friend Jack" tonight at 7 p.m. for a beautiful evening by the lake and the best tunes. 

There will be food and drinks available. Bring a lawn chair, meet friends and family and visitor with your neighbors while enjoying the sounds of the evening. The concerts are held at the Gazebo on Canfield Road. Come early, enjoy dinner and a drink. In case of rain call 330-734-4121 for updates.

Firefighters of Springfield got your hunger covered at this annual event! . . . July 23, 2022

 The Springfield Fire Local 3040 Food Truck Festival on the Lake is being held July 23, 2022, on the Lakefront at 2459 Canfield Road.

The event runs from 12:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

There is something for everyone and all ages. 

Live musical entertainment includes Daniel Gray from 12:30 to 2 p.m., Like Flinn from 2:30 to 5 p.m. and Perfect Choice Band 5:30 to 8:30 p.m.

The younger family members will enjoy the face painting, princesses, balloon artist and more.

A variety of food truck will fill any craving you have from sweet treats to hibachi! 

Concert Tonight featuring the Hitmen!

 

Friday July 8, 2022 tonight's concert features the band the Hitmen with your favorite rock hits from the 70s, 80s and 90s!

Enjoy music, food and a beautiful night along Springfield Lake. 

The concert is free! Bring a chair and enjoy!

Come out and help Rock the Docks this weekend!!!

It's all fun, all weekend on the shores of Springfield Lake!

Don't miss the annual Rock the Docks Festival. 

It is for all ages, and will offer rides, music, many things to do for kids, great carnival food and much more. Here is a schedule. 

Oh, and DON'T miss the fireworks on Saturday night. Great show on the shore of the lake. Nothing like the vivid colors reflecting off the water!
