Here is a sample of all the holiday events taking place throughout the township.
The Springfield Township Women's Club held its annual craft show with great vendors and wonderful food.
Springfield held its Christmas Tree Lighting with Santa and Mrs. Claus visiting and had a special mailbox where letters would go express mail to the North Pole.
The fire department held a pancake breakfast to gather food items and donations for Springfield Cares to support people in the Springfield Lakemore communities that needed a little help for the holidays.
The Springfield Local Schools also collected donations of food items during their annual food drove. Springfield Cares provided food and gifts for more than 90 families.
The police department had officers located outside of Walmart collecting dentations for Springfield Cares the three days of the Thanksgiving weekend.
The police department also held Shop With a Cop at Walmart in December. Kids had a great time shopping with an officer or chaperone, riding in the cruisers and having breakfast and lunch at the high school where their gifts were wrapped by elves and Santa paid a visit.
For the first time, a Christmas Light Scavenger Hunt was held for community members to enjoy reading the clues and finding the answers in a variety of locations. A good time was had and a winner will be awarded with a prize.
Many residents, businesses and groups participated in the events and helped in many ways. Here are some photos from those events.
