POLICE BEAT--Holiday Safety Alert

 Holiday Safety Alert!

As we immerse ourselves in the holiday spirit, your safety remains our top priority. This season, let's address multiple aspects of home security to ensure a joyful and secure celebration.
🎁 Presents Under the Tree:
While the joy of gift-giving is wonderful, consider these tips to keep your presents secure:
Avoid Window Displays: Ensure gifts aren't easily visible from outside windows.
Timing is Key: Place gifts under the tree closer to the actual celebration to minimize exposure.
Neighborly Watch: Coordinate with your neighbors to keep an eye on each other's homes. A vigilant community is a safe community.
📦 Disposal of Product Boxes:
Don't unintentionally advertise your recent purchases. Follow these safety measures when disposing of boxes:
Break It Down: Disassemble and flatten product boxes before placing them in the recycling bin.
Strategic Disposal: Avoid leaving boxes at the curb too early. Wait until the day of pickup to prevent drawing attention.
Inner Packaging: Conceal high-value item boxes inside opaque bags or recycling containers.
🎁 Gift Exchange Safety:

Know Your Online Sellers: If shopping online, purchase from reputable websites to avoid scams and ensure the quality of your gifts.
Track Deliveries: Keep an eye on tracking information for online purchases, and try to schedule deliveries when someone is home.
💳 Financial Safety:
Secure Your Wallet: While shopping in stores, keep your wallet or purse secure and be cautious of pickpockets. If using a cart, strap your purse in using the child seatbelt. Do not leave your cart unattended.
Monitor Bank Statements: Regularly check your bank and credit card statements for any unauthorized transactions.

🎄 Home Decoration Safety:
Fire Safety: Keep flammable decorations away from heat sources, and never leave candles unattended.
Pet-Friendly Decor: If you have pets, ensure decorations and gifts are safe and non-toxic to them.
📦 Increased Risks:
During this time of year, there is an elevated risk of package theft and burglaries. Stay vigilant and report any suspicious activity promptly to us.
📞 Emergency Contact:
In case of an emergency, dial 911 . For non-emergencies, contact our department at 330-733-1061.
Let's work together to safeguard our homes, protect our loved ones, and make this holiday season joyful and secure!
